I already read this book in Swedish so I know what's going to happen, but for me it was a great joy to read the English version because I thought that the feelings were better described. The story takes place in a little town named Forks were it rains throughout the whole year. The first chapter starts with Bella, the main character, saying "I never give much thought to how I would die- thought I'd had reason enough in the last few months-but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this.". The reader then wants to know why she is going to die, what has happen? So you start to read more to understand what's going on and to get to that exciting point.
The next chapter was about Bella's ride to Forks and her first impression about the little town including everyone who lives there. When you read you get to know a lot of things, for example that Bella's relationship with her father is so-so, that they feel like strangers to each other and seem uncomfortable when they are together. I noticed that the story takes place at present time in the way that everybody act and in the describing of the surroundings.
As you may have noticed the book is all about Bella, but later on there's going to be two more character which have a huge roll in the series, Edward and Jacob.
